Shreveport-Bossier, LA — The 5th annual Battle of the Bags cornhole tournament is set for Saturday, September 6, 2025, at The Seventh Tap in the East Bank District. Teams of two can now register to compete in the popular event, which directly supports organizations serving first responders and military personnel in the Shreveport-Bossier area.
Cash Prizes and Matching Donations
This year’s winners will earn more than just bragging rights. The top three teams will take home cash prizes:
- First place: $500 per team
- Second place: $300 per team
- Third place: $200 per team
In addition, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission will match each winning prize amount and donate it to one of the event’s nonprofit beneficiaries: the Shreveport Bomb Squad, FRST, Operation Bright Holiday, and Dream Hunt Foundation.
Supporting First Responders
“The Battle of the Bags cornhole tournament is our way of showing how thankful we are for the service of our first responders,” said Stacy Brown, President & CEO of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “Their commitment to protect and serve ensures the success and safety of festivals and sporting events throughout the year for locals and visitors alike.”
In 2024, the event raised more than $8,000 and helped fund over 350 mental health sessions for 117 first responders, providing critical resources to those who may not have otherwise sought care.
Registration Now Open
The tournament is open to all skill levels. Registration is $25 per person and can be completed through the Scoreholio app by searching “Battle of the Bags” in the Find a Tournament tab. Proceeds from registration, raffle ticket sales, and a percentage of restaurant sales at The Seventh Tap will benefit the designated organizations.
