SHREVEPORT, La. — Ascentek has officially broken ground on a $50 million Manufacturing Assistance Facility (MAF) expansion at its Shreveport site, marking a major step forward for the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations.
The 270,000-square-foot addition, which will connect to the company’s existing facility, will include advanced material handling systems, expanded storage capacity and a new battery management center. The project is designed to enhance Ascentek’s scalability and efficiency as it responds to growing global demand.
The expansion is expected to create 91 new direct jobs and retain 105 existing positions. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the regional impact could generate an additional 338 jobs, strengthening Shreveport’s standing as a center for advanced manufacturing.
“Ascentek’s expansion is exactly the kind of forward-looking investment we strive to attract to North Louisiana, and proof that companies choosing to locate in North Louisiana can be successful here,” said Justyn Dixon, president and CEO of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership. “This project strengthens Shreveport’s position as a center for advanced manufacturing, creates high-quality jobs, and demonstrates long-term confidence in our workforce and infrastructure.”
Ascentek President and CEO Chad Baker said the company’s investment reflects its long-term commitment to the community. “We’re committing to a future of sustainable growth here—developing talent, advancing safe battery charging and distribution, and shaping a hub where innovation and opportunity compound year after year,” Baker said.
Construction is expected to take 12 to 15 months, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
Based in Golden Valley, Minnesota, Ascentek serves global original equipment manufacturers and technology partners through private label fluid manufacturing, regional distribution, assembly, and software solutions.
