SHREVEPORT, La. — Ascentek, Inc., a leading manufacturer of industrial fluids and lubricants, has announced a $50 million investment to expand its production and distribution operations in Shreveport. The project will add a 270,000-square-foot manufacturing assistance facility and upgrade equipment at the company’s existing site on West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
The expansion is expected to create 91 new direct jobs in manufacturing, production support, and business administration, while retaining 105 current positions. Louisiana Economic Development (LED) projects an additional 247 indirect jobs, for a total of 338 potential new jobs in the Northwest Region.
Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with completion estimated between 18 months and two years.
“Ascentek’s $50 million investment is a tremendous vote of confidence in Shreveport’s future,” said Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux. “This expansion will not only bring new, high-quality jobs to our city but also improve critical infrastructure and reinforce our reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing.”
The facility will feature high-speed production lines, enhanced material handling systems, and upgraded storage capabilities, all aimed at boosting efficiency in the company’s chemical and lubricant manufacturing operations. Infrastructure improvements are also planned to support both operational needs and community safety.
President and CEO Chad Baker said the project reinforces Ascentek’s long-term commitment to the region. “Between job creation, economic stimulation and future growth, Ascentek is here to create a unique working environment for every teammate that joins the Ascentek family.”
Ascentek evolved from Lube-Tech, with roots dating back to 1925. The company has grown into a global supplier serving industrial clients with custom-formulated fluids, lubricants, and chemicals.
To secure the project, the state offered a competitive incentive package that includes LED FastStart® workforce development support. Ascentek is also expected to participate in Louisiana’s Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality Jobs programs.
Support for the expansion came from state and regional leaders, including Caddo Parish Commissioner Stormy Gage-Watts, who highlighted the project’s community impact. “This $50 million investment will not only enhance our capabilities but also create 91 new direct jobs for our community. We believe in the potential of our local workforce and are excited to contribute to the economic vitality of Caddo Parish.”
North Louisiana Economic Partnership President and CEO Justyn Dixon praised the move as a win for the region. “This investment not only reinforces Ascentek’s long-standing commitment to our community but also validates the strength of our workforce, infrastructure, and strategic location.”
More information about job opportunities and hiring events will be available soon as the company ramps up its recruitment efforts.
