RUSTON, La. — Andritz-Western Pneumatics has completed a $1.4 million expansion of its manufacturing operations in Ruston, adding new production equipment that is expected to create 15 jobs while retaining 35 existing positions.
The project includes the installation of a laser cutting system that became operational in May and the planned addition of an overhead crane scheduled for July. Company officials said the new equipment is intended to improve manufacturing efficiency, enhance material handling capabilities and support future growth at the facility.
The expansion was completed without state or local incentives. Company officials cited confidence in the Ruston operation and the availability of a skilled workforce in North Louisiana as factors behind the investment.
North Louisiana Economic Partnership worked with the company during the project, providing workforce training connections and assistance with permitting and local coordination.
Jose Briones, plant manager for Andritz-Western Pneumatics, said the investment will strengthen the facility’s production capabilities through advanced cutting technology and improved material handling systems. He said the equipment is expected to streamline production, reduce lead times and improve workplace safety while helping the company meet growing customer demand.
The company also said the new manufacturing capabilities will provide additional precision-cutting and fabrication capacity for businesses throughout the region.
Local and regional leaders said the project reflects the importance of supporting existing employers as a driver of job creation and economic growth.
Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker said investments by companies such as Andritz-Western Pneumatics contribute to the continued growth of the city and the state.
Elizabeth Turnley, president and chief executive officer of the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, said the expansion demonstrates the benefits of industry partnerships and workforce development efforts.
Justyn Dixon, president and chief executive officer of North Louisiana Economic Partnership, said the company’s decision to expand its operations highlights the strength of the region’s workforce and business climate.
The investment adds to ongoing manufacturing growth in North Louisiana and further strengthens Ruston’s role as a regional manufacturing center. Company officials said the expansion reflects a continued focus on operational improvements, technology investment and workforce development.
