As we know, the battle is over whether to allow biological males to play in professional women’s basketball.
How did we get to this point of insanity?
Because the Left views immutable genetic and biological truths as nothing more than social constructs; as merely arbitrary expressions of personal preferences. This lunacy has now collided with itself as the W(oke)NBA rejects science and endangers women on the court and in safe spaces.
WNBA basketball player, Sophie Cunningham, had the “nerve” to make a PGO (penetrating glimpse into the obvious) by pointing out the physical differences between biological males and females, then stating: “I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”
Well, the WNBA has now been called on it.
Two large, tall, powerful, former first round NBA draft picks, Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White, have announced they will enter next year’s WNBA draft. Kanter summarized the issue: “If simply declaring who you are (i.e. a woman) is all that’s required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA.” Wow. The chickens of relativism have come home to roost!
Transgender proponents argue that boys who identify as girls actually are girls. No, they’re not. And they are definitely not biologically—males clearly have physical advantages over females—and in physical sports, gender and biology really do matter. The fact that this has even become a controversial matter is a testament to how unhinged, morally and ethically, our American culture has become.
This distortion was advanced when the Biden Administration made a striking departure from the previous position on Title IX, a federal education law that prevents discrimination based on sex—meaning biological males and females. However, President Biden issued an Executive Order entitled Preventing and Combating Discrimination Based on Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation. The Order states that “[a]ll persons should receive equal treatment under the law without regard to their gender identity or sexual orientation.”
This language may sound benign, but it is not.
Fortunately, the Trump Administration specifically reaffirmed the position that public school districts may exclude students from athletic teams based on “gender identity” and could require students to use bathrooms based on biological sex, rather than gender identity.
This is very important because sports and athletics play an integral role in the development of young girls who will be robbed of the opportunity for that growth and development—and athletic scholarships which may be their only chance at college—if forced to compete with biological males.
Tennis great, Martina Navratilova, has said, ““[T]here will always be significant numbers of boys and men who would beat the best girls and women in head-to-head competition. Claims to the contrary are simply a denial of science.” Echoing this self-evident biological fact, author, JK Rowling, asserts that: “When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman … then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come in.”
Martina Navratilova, Sophie Cunningham, Caitlin Clark, and JK Rowling are grown, strong women who can fight back effectively to defend themselves against this Coven of Evil. But the children who are the targets cannot. Transgender madness has devolved into a multi-billion-dollar Medical Industrial Complex that justifies the grooming of, and the chemical castration and genital mutilation of, minor children, with or without their parents’ permission, or even awareness, in many states.
In a recent WNBA game Minnesota Lynx coach, Cheryl Reeve, wore a shirt that read, ‘Trans Kids Belong’ during a game. Greg Gutfeld of Fox News eviscerated Reeve for targeting children with her shirt, asserting that Reeve, “is an idiot, and she’s a coward … This isn’t Bigfoot. This isn’t wearing a Loch Ness Monster T-shirt where you know it’s fake and it doesn’t hurt anybody. This actually destroys lives.”
JK Rowling further asserts: “There are no trans kids. No child is ‘born in the wrong body’. There are only adults … prepared to sacrifice the health of minors to bolster their belief in an ideology that will end up wreaking great harm.”
We must end this madness of gender delusion that damages the future, and endangers the physical safety, of vulnerable youth. It’s disturbing that it is within the “Women’s” National Basketball Association that this perversion is being advanced.
