SHREVEPORT, La. — The Greater Shreveport Chamber and Caddo Parish Public Schools are seeking local businesses to participate in Caddo Works, a workforce development initiative that connects middle and high school students with employers across Caddo Parish.
Launched in fall 2025, Caddo Works provides students with exposure to workplaces and career opportunities while giving employers a way to engage with the region’s future workforce. The program serves as a clearinghouse for guest speakers, facility tours, job shadowing, career days, cooperative education placements and internships.
“Caddo Works is about preparing our students for what’s next while showcasing the real opportunities that exist right here in Northwest Louisiana,” Greater Shreveport Chamber President Tim Magner said. “We are encouraging all businesses across the Parish to step up and help inspire the next generation to see their future here.”
Businesses of any size can participate by providing speakers, hosting facility tours, supporting job shadowing and career days, participating in cooperative education programs or offering internships.
“We want all of our students to begin exploring their direction for life after high school as early as elementary and middle school,” Caddo Schools Superintendent Keith Burton said. “To do that, we need businesses from across our community to engage, whether that’s as a speaker, with a tour or as an internship site.”
The Caddo Parish Schools Workforce Department is scheduling business engagement opportunities and internships for the 2026-27 school year. The chamber is encouraging businesses across the parish to register for inclusion in those activities.
