CADDO PARISH, La. — The Caddo Parish Tax Assessor’s Office has opened two satellite locations inside Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office substations, expanding access to property tax services in northern and southern parts of the parish.
Grand opening events were held Aug. 11 and Aug. 12 for the new offices in Oil City and Keithville, respectively. The locations are part of a partnership between the assessor’s office and sheriff’s office to provide residents with services closer to where they live and work.
Residents can use the satellite offices to apply for homestead exemptions, disabled veterans exemptions, first responders exemptions and special assessment freezes for senior citizens.
Both locations also have kiosks provided by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Tax Department that allow residents to make property tax payments by credit card.
The North Substation is at 11411 Louisiana Highway 1 in Oil City. The South Substation is at 9956 Mansfield Road in Keithville.
Sheriff Henry Whitehorn said the partnership is part of an effort to make parish services more accessible.
“The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with the Caddo Parish Tax Assessor’s Office to offer these services at our substations, providing residents with more options closer to where they live and work,” Whitehorn said.
