SHREVEPORT, La. — Visit Shreveport-Bossier has renewed its accreditation through the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP), an international certification administered by Destinations International that evaluates destination marketing organizations on governance, finance, operations and performance standards.
The accreditation recognizes destination organizations that meet a series of mandatory and voluntary standards related to management, marketing, human resources, communications, sales, research and destination development. Nearly 200 destination organizations worldwide currently hold DMAP accreditation.
Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International, said the accreditation reflects compliance with industry standards for quality and performance among destination organizations.
Visit Shreveport-Bossier President and CEO Stacy Brown said the renewal aligns with the organization’s long-term tourism strategy and its 10-year Destination Masterplan, which is intended to guide future tourism development and economic growth in the region.
The accreditation comes as tourism continues to play a significant role in the local economy. According to Visit Shreveport-Bossier, visitors generated an estimated $998.1 million in spending across Caddo and Bossier parishes in 2025.
The organization has also expanded its operations in recent years, adding Destination Development and Film & Entertainment departments while promoting several staff members and increasing professional accreditation efforts.
Visit Shreveport-Bossier serves as the official destination marketing and management organization for Shreveport and Bossier City, promoting leisure travel, meetings, conventions and events throughout the region.
Destinations International, which administers the accreditation program, represents more than 10,000 members and partners across more than 770 destinations worldwide.
