SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 2025–26 season with a May 2 concert program centered on the music of John Williams, featuring guest saxophonist Timothy McAllister.
The performance, titled “John Williams: From Stage to Screen,” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Riverview Theatre in downtown Shreveport.
The program will include selections from several of Williams’ film scores, including music from Saving Private Ryan, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Memoirs of a Geisha and Star Wars. Organizers said the concert is designed to highlight the composer’s influence on both film and orchestral music, bringing well-known cinematic themes to a live symphonic setting.
The concert will also feature Escapades for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra, with McAllister as soloist. The piece is part of Williams’ concert repertoire and is intended to showcase his orchestration style beyond film scoring.
Tickets for the event start at $20 and are available through the orchestra’s website and box office.
