SHREVEPORT, La. — The Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments has begun a five-year update of its Metropolitan Transportation Plan covering Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto and Webster parishes.
The plan, known as Moving Forward 2050, serves as the region’s long-range transportation strategy, outlining priorities, goals and projects across all modes of transportation over the next 25 years. The update is required for the region to remain eligible for federal transportation funding.
As part of the initial phase, the council is collecting public input to help shape priorities for infrastructure improvements, future goals and funding allocation. Feedback is being gathered through an online survey and in-person events scheduled throughout February and March.
The early stage of the process, described as a listening and learning phase, allows residents to provide input on transportation needs within their communities and parishes.
The online survey is currently open to the public, with officials encouraging participation and broader community engagement as part of the planning effort.
Additional information about the plan and public input opportunities is available through the council’s outreach materials.
