SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport Regional Airport remains closed as crews continue working to clear heavy ice accumulation from runways and other operational areas, officials said in an update late Sunday evening.
Airport officials said the safety of passengers and employees across all agencies that support airport operations remains the top priority. Current conditions have prevented a safe reopening as crews work to remove multiple layers of ice from several sections of the airfield.
The airport anticipates reopening late Tuesday afternoon but will only resume operations once conditions are deemed safe. Officials said they will notify the public through all social media channels once the airfield is cleared and operational.
