WASHINGTON — The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management released a Proposed Notice of Sale for the second offshore oil and gas lease offering in the Gulf of America, a move supported by U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana.
The lease sale is scheduled for March 11, 2026. It is the second of 30 sales mandated under the Working Families Tax Cuts bill, legislation that authorized a long-term schedule for Gulf leasing activity.
“I’m working with President Trump to boost American energy, lower costs, and create jobs,” Cassidy said. “That starts right here in Louisiana’s backyard, the Gulf of America.”
Federal officials said the proposed schedule aims to provide predictability for offshore operators and aligns with the administration’s plan to expand domestic energy production.
