SHREVEPORT, La. — Gasoline prices in Shreveport fell 2.8 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $2.46 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy’s latest survey of 177 stations in the area.
Prices in Shreveport are 19.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 15.1 cents lower than the same period last year. The cheapest station in the city reported a price of $2.22 per gallon, while the most expensive was $2.99, a spread of 77 cents per gallon. Across Louisiana, prices ranged from $2.08 to $3.79 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline declined 4.1 cents to $2.98 per gallon. The national average has dropped 19.3 cents in the past month and stands 15.2 cents below year-ago levels. The national average price of diesel also fell 3.7 cents to $3.59 per gallon.
GasBuddy’s historical data shows Shreveport prices have fluctuated widely over the past decade, from $1.82 per gallon in 2020 to $3.28 in 2022.
In nearby cities, average prices were $2.51 in Little Rock, $2.46 in Dallas, and $2.58 statewide in Louisiana, each posting week-over-week declines.
“Gas prices have finally fallen below $3 per gallon nationally—the earliest date we’ve seen a $2.99 national average since 2020, when COVID was the primary driver of low prices,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “OPEC+ deserves much of the credit for this trend, having steadily raised oil production for much of 2025. Currently, 35 states have average gas prices below $2.99 per gallon.”
De Haan added that absent major disruptions, prices are expected to remain below year-ago levels and could stay under $3 per gallon for the next few months.
