SHREVEPORT, La. – Average gasoline prices in Shreveport rose 6.9 cents per gallon last week to $2.67, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 177 stations. Prices remain 3.7 cents lower than a month ago and 5.3 cents lower than a year earlier.
Shreveport drivers on Sunday saw a spread of 71 cents per gallon, with the cheapest station priced at $2.48 and the highest at $3.19. Across Louisiana, prices ranged from $2.28 to $3.55 per gallon.
Nationally, gasoline prices fell 3.4 cents to $3.15 per gallon, down 13.1 cents from a year ago. Diesel prices rose 1.4 cents to $3.67 per gallon.
“With the unofficial end of summer now behind us, we saw the lowest national average price of gasoline on Labor Day since 2020,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “This caps off the most affordable summer at the pump since 2021, with motorists spending $11.3 billion less on gasoline compared to last year.”
Regional trends varied. Prices in Little Rock dropped 9.6 cents to $2.68, while Dallas saw a 13-cent increase to $2.85. Louisiana’s statewide average rose 3.2 cents to $2.72.
GasBuddy data show Shreveport’s current average compares to $2.72 a year ago, $3.22 in 2023 and $1.86 in 2020.
