SHREVEPORT, La. — AT&T has invested more than $150 million in the Shreveport-Bossier City area from 2020 to 2024, part of a larger $2.2 billion statewide initiative to modernize network infrastructure and expand access to fast, reliable internet across Louisiana.
The investment in the local region includes major upgrades to AT&T’s fiber network, 5G wireless coverage, and public safety communications. These enhancements are already impacting homes, businesses, and first responders across Northwest Louisiana.

Local Benefits at a Glance:
- Fiber Expansion: AT&T Fiber® is now available to thousands of homes and businesses in the Shreveport-Bossier region, part of a statewide footprint of over 720,000 locations.
- Public Safety: More than 1,450 FirstNet® Band 14 sites have been activated across Louisiana, including sites that serve first responders in the Shreveport-Bossier area.
- 5G Coverage: AT&T’s 5G network continues to grow, with strong coverage across both urban and rural communities.
Statewide Support for Broadband Access
Statewide, AT&T has invested over $2.2 billion to expand its network in the last four years. Other notable regional investments include:
- $675 million in New Orleans-Metairie
- $375 million in Baton Rouge
- $150 million in Lafayette
AT&T also won $55 million in BEAD funding to expand fiber access to more than 20,000 new locations across Louisiana. The company is working with local governments, including a recent partnership with the City of Monroe, to close connectivity gaps in underserved communities.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Beyond infrastructure, AT&T is investing in local communities. In partnership with Team Hope NOLA and Master P, the company donated 500 laptops to families and students in New Orleans. Statewide, AT&T has pledged $5 billion by 2030 to close the digital divide.
