SHREVEPORT, La. — U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson is scheduled to participate in a legislative update Tuesday morning at LSU Shreveport, according to an event announcement from the Greater Shreveport Chamber.
The event is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the ballroom of the LSU Shreveport University Center, Building 19.
The program will feature a conversation with Johnson, a Republican who represents Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District. Attendees may submit questions in advance during registration.
Seating is limited, and advance registration is required.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. because of security measures planned for the event. Attendees are being asked to arrive at least 20 minutes before the program begins to allow time for screening.
Government-issued photo identification, a military ID or passport will be required at check-in. Attendees will pass through metal detectors, and bags will be inspected before entry. Organizers are asking attendees not to bring large backpacks or purses.
Firearms and other weapons are prohibited on the LSU Shreveport campus.
Parking will be available in designated lots near Buildings 19 and 4, and parking permits will not be required for the event.
