SHREVEPORT, La. — Average gasoline prices in Shreveport rose 13.2 cents per gallon over the past week to $3.95 on Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 177 stations in the area.
Prices are 26.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and $1.33 higher than a year ago. On Sept. 21, 2025, the average price in Shreveport was $2.61 per gallon.
GasBuddy reported that Shreveport prices ranged from $3.75 to $4.19 per gallon Sunday, a difference of 44 cents. Across Louisiana, prices ranged from $3.59 to $4.99 per gallon.
The national average rose 18.5 cents over the past week to $4.44 per gallon. That is 34.4 cents higher than a month ago and $1.30 above the year-ago average of $3.14.
Diesel prices also increased sharply. The national average for diesel rose 30.7 cents over the past week to $6.49 per gallon.
GasBuddy said gasoline prices increased in nearly every state, with 45 states recording increases of more than 3 cents per gallon. Several Great Lakes states saw increases exceeding 30 cents amid refinery issues.
“Average gasoline prices rose in virtually every state over the last week, with 45 states seeing increases of more than 3 cents per gallon, led by the Great Lakes region where refinery issues sent Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Wisconsin all up more than 30 cents per gallon,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
De Haan said diesel prices increased in every state, with five states recording increases of more than 50 cents per gallon. He attributed the increases to strikes affecting Russian oil refineries and regional refinery problems in the Great Lakes.
“Any broader directional change will depend heavily on overseas developments, and with new Houthi attacks and fresh U.S.-Iran escalations, the outlook remains deeply uncertain,” De Haan said.
Gasoline prices also increased in nearby markets. Little Rock, Arkansas, averaged $3.98 per gallon, up 10.2 cents from a week earlier, while Dallas averaged $3.96, up 10.7 cents. Louisiana’s statewide average was $3.98, an increase of 11.1 cents.
