Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College announces $30 million campus project
Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College has announced plans for approximately $30 million in improvements to its Shreveport campus as the institution marks its 90th anniversary.
Chancellor Jayda Spillers announced the project Friday during an anniversary celebration at the Shreveport campus. The initiative, called Rebuild to Rise, is expected to transform the campus and position the college for continued growth and workforce training needs in Northwest Louisiana. NLTCC
NLTCC has already invested approximately $4.7 million in campus improvements since 2023, including HVAC work, security upgrades, restroom renovations, asbestos abatement, flooring and other improvements. Press Herald
The Shreveport campus traces its roots to the Shreveport Trade School, established in 1936 as Louisiana’s second technical school.
Shreveport seeks engineer for Financial Plaza Drive improvements
The City of Shreveport is seeking engineering firms for a roadway improvement project along Financial Plaza Drive.
The project will extend from Pines Road to Frances Street and is part of the city’s 2024 General Obligation Bond program. The city has established an initial design fee of $100,000 for the project. Shreveport
The selected engineering consultant will provide design services and prepare construction documents while representing the city’s interests through construction and project closeout.
Statements of qualifications are due Sept. 24 at 3 p.m.

$280,000 Pine Crest Drive improvement project gets underway
Construction is scheduled to begin this week on a $280,000 concrete pavement improvement project on Pine Crest Drive in Bossier Parish.
The Bossier Parish Police Jury said contractors are expected to work on the project for approximately three months. Alternating lane closures will be required during construction to maintain traffic while crews complete the improvements. Default
Motorists traveling through the area are being advised to watch for construction crews, equipment and temporary traffic controls.
