On February 22, CHRISTUS Cancer Center is set to unveil its new and expanded facility with a series of celebratory events, including tours and special presentations.
Located adjacent to the CHRISTUS Bossier Emergency Hospital, the newly expanded CHRISTUS Cancer Center is the sole provider of cancer care in Bossier City, offering comprehensive services such as oncology and hematology clinic visits, chemotherapy, and infusion therapy.
Dr. Scott Boniol, CHRISTUS Oncology Medical Director, expressed pride in the expanded facility, stating, “This expansion allows us to provide personalized, comprehensive cancer care to patients right here in our community. We are dedicated to offering the highest quality of care to our patients.”
The events on Thursday will include a celebration marking the sixth anniversary of CHRISTUS Bossier Emergency Hospital, tours of the new cancer center, and an introduction to a local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) National Champion. Additionally, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce will host “After Hours” welcoming CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System’s new president and CEO, Casey Robertson.
Commenting on the occasion, Casey Robertson said, “We are immensely proud of the state-of-the-art cancer center and the exceptional cancer care it offers to our community. This celebration is a testament to our commitment to enhancing healthcare services in Bossier City.”
Since its opening in 2018, the 25,000-square-foot CHRISTUS Bossier Emergency Hospital has provided outpatient services including laboratory and radiology services, featuring advanced technology such as MRI, digital mammography, bone density testing, and ultrasound.
This year’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals National Champion, 6-year-old Joseph, will also be present at the celebration. Joseph, who was born prematurely, spent several months in the neonatal intensive care unit at CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System, undergoing two major surgeries. He is among 11 children selected nationwide to serve as ambassadors raising awareness about the importance of charitable donations to support pediatric healthcare.
