Lincoln Foodservice Equipment Establishes National Operations Base in Shreveport, Bringing Nearly 100 Jobs

by BIZ Magazine

Lincoln Foodservice Equipment, a prominent company under the Welbilt brand that specializes in commercial-grade foodservice equipment, is set to inaugurate a new U.S. operations center at Welbilt’s existing site in Caddo Parish, marking a significant investment of $2.3 million. This move is expected to generate 99 direct jobs, each offering average annual salaries exceeding $50,000.

Louisiana Economic Development estimates that the project will also result in the creation of 137 indirect jobs, contributing to a total of 236 potential new jobs in the Northwest Region.

I am excited to announce that Susan Bourgeois will lead the Louisiana Department of Economic Development. Susan is exactly what this department needs to move Louisiana’s economy forward and put us on the playing field with our southern neighbors. I look forward to the great work she will do for our state,” said Governor Jeff Landry.

The project involves the addition of 35,000 square feet of manufacturing space to Welbilt’s current Caddo Parish facility, which currently produces foodservice products under the Frymaster brand. The expanded space will support the production of Lincoln Foodservice brand ovens for customers nationwide.

Expanding on our established presence in this region with the Frymaster brand, we eagerly anticipate continuing our legacy with the introduction of another esteemed brand to this community,” said Welbilt CEO Kevin Clark.

Kevin Clark emphasized the strategic move to enhance production capacity while optimizing lead times for greater customer responsiveness.

Lincoln Foodservice Equipment aims to commence commercial operations at the new facility by the end of the first quarter of this year.

Lincoln Foodservice’s decision to locate in Shreveport is a testament to the appeal of our community and the collaborative spirit that defines us,” said Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux. He emphasized the positive impact of the new venture on the industrial landscape within the city.

The new Lincoln Foodservice Equipment operations center in Shreveport is a welcome addition not only to Louisiana’s manufacturing sector but also to our world-renowned food culture,” said Governor Jeff Landry.

To secure the project in Shreveport, the state of Louisiana provided Lincoln Foodservice with a competitive incentives package, including LED FastStart, a comprehensive workforce development solution. The company is also expected to participate in the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality Jobs programs.

When we see expansions of existing industries, it tells us that a community has the means for success,” said North Louisiana Economic Partnership President and CEO Justyn Dixon. He welcomed Lincoln Foodservice Equipment’s expansion, highlighting its significant contribution to the continuously growing manufacturing base in north Louisiana.
