Two Louisiana-based telecommunications companies merge

by BIZ. Staff

RTC Holdings, LLC through its Reserve Communications and Computer Corp. (RCC) subsidiary has acquired 100% of EATELCORP, LLC (EATEL) and its subsidiaries, effective May 31, 2019.

The merger ushers in a new era for local telecommunications – with the combined networks paving the way as one of the largest local providers in Louisiana.

Throughout its history, EATEL has positioned itself for growth. As a pioneer in the industry, EATEL was one of the first providers in the nation to offer fiber-to-the-home services, including internet, video, phone, home security and datacenter services.

William Ironside, the CEO at RTC said, “EATEL has had impressive growth and expansion of its service area and portfolio of products over the years. We are excited about the future and are confident that EATEL will continue to thrive under RTC’s ownership.”

Both founded in 1935, EATEL and RTC share similar histories and philosophies – chief among them: local presence, personalized service and quality product offerings. The companies plan to maintain their nearly identical product portfolios to ensure customers experience the same continuity in service and quality.

Moreover, EATEL and RTC’s complementary geographical footprint will bring added value to the business community of Southeast Louisiana and will also help forge new opportunities for fiber expansion.

“This is a very exciting opportunity, and we look forward to continuing EATEL’s legacy of offering innovative services and outstanding customer service. Our combined operations will be well-positioned for growth as we continue to focus on bringing value to our customers” said Josh Descant, President of EATEL.

The combined organization will be headquartered in Gonzales, La.
