by BIZ Magazine

Shreveport, LA: In recognition of Melanoma Awareness Month, Willis Knighton Health System’s Ark-La-Tex Dermatology is offering free skin cancer screenings on Melanoma Monday, May 6. Melanoma Monday aims to raise awareness about the dangers of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, and promote early detection through screenings.

The free screenings will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ark-La-Tex Dermatology offices in both Shreveport and Bossier City. Dermatologists Josephine Futrell, MD, PhD, Sarah Baker, MD, Sarah Glorioso, MD, and Elizabeth Clemons, MD, all members of the American Academy of Dermatology, will conduct the screenings.

Skin cancer screenings are vital for early detection and treatment, which significantly improves outcomes for patients. Each screening will include a visual check by experienced dermatologists to identify any suspicious moles or lesions.

In Bossier City, screenings will be held at Ark-La-Tex Dermatology’s office located at 2300 Hospital Drive, Suite 400. Dr. Futrell will conduct screenings from 8 a.m. to noon, followed by Dr. Baker from 1 to 4 p.m. In Shreveport, screenings will take place at the office situated at 1811 East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suite 160, with Dr. Glorioso from 8 a.m. to noon, and Dr. Clemons from 1 to 4 p.m.
