BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC), in association with Louisiana Human Resources Development Institute (LHRDI), will host the 2018 Louisiana Labor Summit, March 21-23, at the New Orleans Marriott in New Orleans.

“LHRDI is proud to partner and to support the 2018 Louisiana Labor Summit,” said Jerry Mike Chapman, Executive Director of LHRDI. “We look forward to fostering effective partnerships among businesses, labor organizations and training providers from across the state.”

The summit will feature workshops and lectures from industry leaders on the areas of workforce development, workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance and economic forecasts, among others. Attendees will also have an opportunity to network and gain valuable knowledge on the challenges experienced in a competitive labor market.

Governor John Bel Edwards will offer the keynote address during the final day of the conference. “The Louisiana Labor Summit will serve as a catalyst for advancing our workforce in the coming year. We expect the data and discourse offered to generate actionable solutions to help better serve the people of Louisiana.”

“This event will allow our stakeholders to engage in thought-provoking discussions on current labor market trends and challenges, while providing a forum to develop strategies for improved outcomes,” said Ava Dejoie, Executive Director of the Louisiana Workforce Commission. “We believe the conference will positively impact our workforce development efforts, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the Crescent City.”
