North Bossier group gets update on proposed sports complex

by BIZ Magazine

The North Bossier Lunch Group got an update on the proposed sports entertainment complex during its monthly meeting March 28 at the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning.

John Dudley, founder of Chasing Aces Golf, discussed his and co-founder, Randy Rogers, plan to build a sports entertainment complex on property adjacent to Margaritaville Resort Casino. It will feature a driving range with interactive swing bays and multiple dining experiences.

The facility will also feature both a 9-hole smart course and an 18-hole putting course. The golf facility will be designed in collaboration with the Arnold Palmer Design Team. Plans for a sports bar, training center and pro shop are also in the works.

“This will be an economic driver for our area, as people from all over the Ark-La-Tex will travel to Bossier City for this venue,” said Dudley.

He added the project is not a gaming facility.

“It is a game of skill. And, the progressive pot within 36 months will organically be anywhere from $500 to $750 thousand dollars. So, that’s attractive for people wanting to come,” he added.

Dudley said that construction of the facility will take approximately 12 to 14 months to complete. It is estimated that the new complex will open in the summer of 2024.

“I got here through determination. Through going through 86 different ‘No’s’ in order to get to the one ‘Yes.’” This allowed me to be able to do this,” said Dudley.

The North Bossier Lunch Group’’s goal is to bring together men and women in the North Bossier community who want to stay informed and to bring together those who want to make a difference in their community. The group’s vision for the luncheon is to help North Bossier business owners, stakeholders, community leaders, and community partners network with each other in discussing the growth, development, and business future of North Bossier and Bossier City.
