Higher education offers transformational opportunities for students to improve their lives, but what if they can’t enroll on campus?

Universities around the country continue to see students who are place-bound, have time restrictions, or encounter other barriers to earning a college degree or credential. These challenges also inhibit our ability to achieve the transformational impacts of higher education in our state and nation.

Individuals everywhere are seeking new or greater opportunities – new careers or advancements in their current career field. Organizations throughout the world are seeing tremendous changes in the knowledge and skillsets needed to compete and achieve success.

With those challenges in mind, Louisiana Tech University has created a plan to increase opportunities for students who – for one reason or another – are not able to engage in on-campus, face-to-face instruction to achieve degrees or career advancement.

This winter, we will welcome new students to Tech Online. Our educational model will benefit those who could advance their careers with the convenience and access to online education.  This enables them to earn a degree or credential with the rigor and exceptional return on investment that is a hallmark of Louisiana Tech.

We will begin with a number of programs, including bachelor’s degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and Health Informatics and Information Management and master’s degrees in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Engineering and Technology Management, and Health Informatics.

We’re planning on adding programs to meet the demands of industry and our students. No matter your interest, we can help you thrive in your current career or start a new journey.

The development of Tech Online is tied to our University’s focus on cultivating learners, leaders, and mentors for excellence. We’re focused on increasing opportunities for nontraditional student talent and providing access to more individuals who want the value and distinction that come with a degree from Louisiana Tech. Our long-term success facilitating career connections for students and graduates will continue with Tech Online.

We’ll offer students in designated Tech Online programs flat rate tuition – $400 per credit hour for bachelor’s programs and $475 per credit hour for graduate programs – and access to a student success professional focused on guiding students on their path to achievement.

Training and instructional support for our faculty members who teach courses in Tech Online programs help ensure that these programs have the quality our community has come to expect from a Louisiana Tech education.
