Missouri-based construction company, JE Dunn Construction, is looking for area subcontractors for a construction project at Barksdale Air-Force Base.
The project will provide a new Entry Control Facility (ECF) that provides a point of entry for personnel, visitors and deliveries to BAFB directly from Interstates I-20 and I-220. The ECF will be located on the north side of the base and will connect with a new state highway being constructed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development onto Barksdale AFB property at a terminus point just south of Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCS) right-of-way.

Jennifer Whittington, NWLA PTAC Contract Specialist, said that contractors who want to be considered for any of the above contracts need to email her their complete information so that she can get them the paperwork to bid.

Mike Novotny, Estimating Manager of JE Dunn Construction, said that construction awards will be done mid-2021, and that construction is expected to begin February 2022 and it should last for an estimated 1100 days. It is anticipated to be completed in mid-2024.
Novotny said that JE Dunn has completed 81 federal projects and that they are already working on other projects in the Shreveport area.
He added that if applicants are not awarded a contract on this project, there will be others they can apply for. He encouraged contractors to visit JEDunn.com, click the “Work With Us” tab, and select the section that says “For Trade Partners” to provide their information for future projects.
