Shreveport, LA — The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has announced the appointment of Cedric Glover, former Shreveport Mayor and State Representative, as its new Executive Director. The decision, made unanimously by the DDA board, follows an extensive nine-month search to find the ideal candidate to lead Shreveport’s downtown revitalization efforts.
The search process initially attracted 14 regional applicants, but the DDA’s commitment to finding the best possible leader prompted the engagement of a national search firm. This expanded the applicant pool to 20 highly qualified candidates. After thorough interviews, evaluations, and consultations with stakeholders, Glover emerged as the top choice due to his extensive experience in development, governmental affairs, real estate, public relations, and executive management.
“Cedric Glover’s leadership comes at a critical time for Shreveport, especially as we experience exciting growth in the Film & Television industry and entertainment sectors,” the DDA stated. Glover’s advocacy for both small businesses and major industries is expected to play a key role in the continued development and revitalization of downtown Shreveport.
Glover’s appointment is seen as a significant step forward for the DDA, which recognizes the importance of downtown Shreveport’s vibrancy to the city’s overall success. The board is confident that under Glover’s leadership, the downtown area will continue to thrive and grow, further establishing Shreveport as a city where people can live, work, and enjoy the rich culture of the South.
The DDA and its board of directors expressed their excitement for this new chapter of collaboration and hard work, aimed at ensuring a smooth transition and a bright future for downtown Shreveport.
