SHREVEPORT – Students from across the country will flock to Shreveport-Bossier this week as part of LSU Shreveport’s summer graduation ceremonies.
LSUS will confer 1,238 college degrees and two certifications Friday d during the university’s summer commencement exercises at Brookshire Grocery Arena.
Graduates will lean heavily toward master’s degrees in the summer ceremony as LSUS operates year-round online graduate programs.
All but 44 of those degrees are master’s degrees (1,192 degrees). Forty-two students earned bachelor’s degrees and two finished LSUS’s doctoral program in leadership studies.
The Master of Business Administration (795), the Master of Health Administration (180) and the Master of Education (163) represent the LSUS degrees with the most graduates.
No tickets are required to attend the event, and graduates can invite as many guests as they would like to the 14,000-seat arena. Parking is free.
Ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The ADA entrance is located on the north side of the building, which includes a wheelchair accessible ramp. Parking lot A is reserved for handicapped guests.
The ceremony will be livestreamed through the LSUS YouTube channel.
WHERE ARE GRADUATES FROM?
LSUS summer graduates hail from 48 states/territories and 21 countries.
Louisiana (321 graduates) leads the way in total number of graduates with Texas (147), Florida (106), California (81) and Georgia (47) rounding out the top five.
Thirty-eight graduates are citizens from countries outside of the United States with India (8), Nigeria (5), Canada (4) and Jamaica (3) having the most students of any non-US country.
