Bossier Parish’s Suzanne Stinson Elected Chair of Judiciary Commission of Louisiana

New Orleans, LA – Suzanne H. Stinson, a distinguished resident of Bossier Parish, has been elected as the new Chair of the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana. Stinson, who brings a wealth of experience in court administration and public service, will lead the Commission for the remainder of her term.

Stinson has an extensive background in the legal and judicial fields, having begun her career with the 26th Judicial Court District in 1982. She served as court administrator from 1996 until her retirement in 2014. A highly educated professional, Stinson holds multiple degrees from Louisiana Tech University, including a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in business administration, and a second master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology. She also served in the Louisiana Army National Guard from 1979 to 1982.

Throughout her career, Stinson has been recognized for her leadership and contributions to the judiciary. She is a Fellow of the Institute for Court Management and has served in various leadership roles, including past president of the National Association for Court Management and president of the Louisiana Court Administrators Association. Her expertise has also led her to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) and on several committees dedicated to improving the judicial system in Louisiana.

In her new role as Chair of the Judiciary Commission, Stinson will oversee the nine-member body responsible for reviewing allegations of judicial misconduct and recommending appropriate discipline to the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Judge Bruce E. Hampton of the Third Judicial District Court was elected Vice-Chair of the Commission, bringing his own extensive legal experience to the role.

The Judiciary Commission of Louisiana plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the state’s judiciary. The members, including Stinson and Hampton, serve on a part-time, volunteer basis, dedicating their time and expertise to ensuring justice is upheld across Louisiana.
