Shreveport, LA — Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington proudly announced that Lt. Quinton Black has been awarded the prestigious title of Deputy of the Year at the KSLA First Responder of the Year event, held on September 10, 2024, at Bally’s Casino in Shreveport. The ceremony recognized outstanding individuals in public safety for their exceptional dedication and service to their communities.
Lt. Black, a veteran with 21 years of experience in law enforcement, was honored for his exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and tireless efforts in serving the Bossier Parish community. His commitment to excellence and creating a positive working environment has been a hallmark of his career. Currently, Lt. Black serves as a Corrections Shift Lieutenant for the Bossier Sheriff’s Office in Plain Dealing, LA.
The KSLA First Responder of the Year event is a celebration of the bravery and commitment of first responders who consistently go above and beyond their duties. Lt. Black was particularly recognized for his mentorship of junior deputies and his active roles on the Crisis Negotiation Team and Peer Support group within the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.
