Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) has unveiled its 2024 Legislative Scorecard, recognizing state legislators who have demonstrated strong support for pro-business legislation. The Scorecard, an annual release by LABI, highlights key votes during the legislative session that its members believe are crucial to improving Louisiana’s business climate.
This year’s Scorecard covers more than two dozen significant votes on issues ranging from educational reform and workforce development to legal climate improvements and insurance market stabilization. According to LABI President and CEO Will Green, the session followed a historic election cycle and came with high expectations for change.
“Guided by LABI’s LA Driven strategic plan, this session produced major wins for Louisiana’s business community,” Green said. “Legislation passed this year lays the foundation for a brighter business future in our state, with efforts focused on expanding educational opportunities, preparing future workers for high-demand jobs, and creating a more competitive insurance market.”
The Scorecard also spotlights legislators who played a pivotal role in advancing these priorities. This year, 75 lawmakers received scores of 80 percent or higher on bills deemed critical by LABI’s 2,000-plus members.
