Bossier Sheriff’s Office Welcomes New Deputies and Corrections Officers

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington recently administered the Oath of Affirmation to six new deputies and welcomed three new corrections officers to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office during a swearing-in ceremony held in the Sheriff’s Conference Room at the Bossier Parish Courthouse.

The new deputies—Chad Darnell, Michael McClung, Braden Primeaux, Colt Shankle, Kemariyaa Turner, and Tommy Souter—officially joined the ranks on Monday morning. Sheriff Whittington praised the new recruits, saying, “I commend you for joining a great team and welcome you to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.”

In addition to the new deputies, the Sheriff’s Office also welcomed Jackson Bennett, Jaxon Vandiver, and Emma Wright as the newest corrections officers. Five of the new deputies, along with the corrections officers, will begin their careers at one of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office correctional facilities. Deputy Tommy Souter will be assigned to the Courthouse Security team.

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office is continually seeking dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in their community. The office offers exciting career opportunities for those interested in law enforcement. To apply to become a deputy, applicants must be at least 21 years of age. However, positions as corrections officers are available for applicants as young as 18 years old.
