The Louisiana Sheriffs’ and Deputies’ Political Action Committee proudly announces its endorsement of Congressman Mike Johnson in his run for U.S. Congress serving Louisiana’s Fourth Congressional District. According to Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb, Chairman of the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association’s Political Action Committee, “It is the decision of the Sheriffs of District 4 to support Congressman Johnson in his forthcoming election on November 5, 2024.”
Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian C. Whittington, in making the motion to endorse, stated, “Congressman Johnson has been very supportive of law enforcement in the past, and now as Speaker of the House, I know that he will continue to be instrumental in helping the constituents of this district.”
The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association is a bipartisan organization composed of Louisiana’s 64 sheriffs and nearly 14,000 deputy sheriffs. It was established to represent Louisiana’s chief law enforcement officers across the state. The Association’s purpose is to maintain the constitutional authority of sheriffs as chief law enforcement officers, ensure the delivery of first-rate services, and sponsor legislation that promotes the administration of criminal justice.
