by BIZ Magazine

Ruston, LA – Louisiana Tech University President Jim Henderson has announced a strategic integration of two key external functions—University Advancement and the Innovation Enterprise—under a new leadership role. Dr. Davy Norris has been appointed as the senior vice president for innovation and advancement and CEO of the Louisiana Tech University Foundation. This move aims to enhance the university’s capabilities in innovation, public-private partnerships, philanthropy, and economic development.

“Collaborating with the Louisiana Tech University Foundation Board and Executive Committee over the past six months has highlighted the potential benefits of combining these resources and personnel,” President Henderson stated. “Merging these entities promises significant advantages for our university community, business partners, the City of Ruston, and the regional economy. Davy is a dedicated leader who has proven his ability to attract partnerships that will continue to advance Louisiana Tech’s mission.”

Dr. Norris has been at the helm of Louisiana Tech’s Innovation Enterprise as the chief innovation officer for over a decade. His leadership has been instrumental in the opening of Tech Pointe I and Tech Pointe II, facilities that house 18 company-tenants who engage with student and faculty resources to enhance their business outcomes.

“Our university is well positioned to build on the success of the Innovation Enterprise and the impacts of our outstanding advancement team,” Norris said. “Integrating these operations will not only strengthen our philanthropic reach but will empower us to pursue diversified business engagements that enhance partnerships, expand experiential learning opportunities, catalyze new research collaborations, and drive economic growth in the community and the region.”

In his new role, Norris will be supported by the university’s chief development officer and chief innovation officer. Lisa Bradley, who has been serving as the interim vice president for advancement, will return to her previous role as the Foundation’s associate vice president and chief financial officer.

“We appreciate Lisa’s stalwart leadership over the past year and a half,” President Henderson added. “She will continue to play a critical role in the success of our advancement enterprise.”

Dr. Davy Norris will assume his new responsibilities effective July 1.
