Bossier Chamber Celebrates Lisa Johnson’s 20 Years of Leadership

by BIZ Magazine

BOSSIER CITY – Lisa Johnson, President and CEO of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, is celebrating a significant milestone: 20 years of dedicated service and leadership. Since her appointment in June 2004, Johnson has transformed the Chamber into a powerhouse of advocacy, membership growth, and community engagement.

Johnson’s tenure began when the Bossier Chamber Board of Directors sought a leader who understood and appreciated Bossier’s unique assets, including its military community, robust educational institutions, effective public safety organizations, and supportive small business environment. “Lisa was the perfect choice,” said Judge Jeff Thompson, former Bossier Chamber Chairman of the Board. “Her deep love for Bossier and her vision for its potential made her stand out.”

Under Johnson’s leadership, the Bossier Chamber has achieved numerous accolades, including the prestigious 4-star and 5-star accreditations from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a distinction earned by only 3 percent of Chambers nationwide. Additionally, the Bossier Chamber has received Louisiana Chamber accreditation, won Louisiana Chamber of the Year twice, and been recognized as a Military Friendly Chamber by Ventrepreneur Magazine.

“Lisa’s leadership is known regionwide and statewide as a connector of people and opportunities,” said Jonathan Reynolds, current Bossier Chamber Chairman of the Board. “When you talk about the Bossier Chamber within this community, region, and state, business leaders know that you’re talking about a Chamber that is a leader, that gets things done, and that advocates for our military and our business community. That reputation is because of the leadership of Lisa Johnson.”

In her role as President, Johnson oversees a team focused on government relations, military relations, business development, and community development. She has been instrumental in creating opportunities for business leaders to engage with the community in meaningful ways.

Reflecting on her two decades with the Chamber, Johnson expressed her gratitude and passion for the role. “I am honored to have been at the Bossier Chamber for 20 years,” she said. “What I have enjoyed the absolute most about this job is building relationships with the community at every level.”

Johnson also highlighted her commitment to mentoring, particularly for young women. “Another thing I have enjoyed is the mentoring I have been able to do with other women. To be able to help young women as they come through the office, as an employee or someone seeking advice, that has been a blessing that no one can take away,” she added.

As the Bossier Chamber looks to the future, Johnson’s influence continues to be a driving force, ensuring the organization remains a pivotal entity in supporting and advocating for the Bossier business community.
