LSUS Hosts Sales Success Summit to Equip Professionals with Cutting-Edge Trends

SHREVEPORT, LA – The region’s top sales professionals are set to converge at the LSU Shreveport campus for the Sales Success Summit on June 28, 2024. This half-day professional development event promises to deliver a wealth of knowledge on the latest sales and marketing trends through a series of insightful breakout sessions and networking opportunities.

Event Highlights:

  • Date and Venue: June 28, 2024, at the LSUS Student Union
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with breakfast and registration starting at 8:30 a.m.
  • Registration Fees: $49 by June 22; $69 thereafter. Free for LSUS students courtesy of local sponsors.

Leigh Chambers, Executive Director of Events and Community Initiatives at LSUS, emphasized the event’s value for both seasoned professionals and newcomers to the sales industry. “Sales is a fantastic career with significant growth potential, earning potential, and mobility across fields. This summit is designed to educate attendees on the latest trends and techniques in sales,” Chambers stated.

Agenda and Speakers:

The summit features an array of breakout sessions tailored to various sales disciplines:

  1. Tech Sales: Led by Scott Lasseigne of APS Payroll.
  2. Automotive Sales: Presented by Scott Tarkowski, creator of the Mimic app.
  3. Medical Sales: Directed by Kevin Gonsoulin of QIAGEN.
  4. General Sales and Media: Featuring Lisa Janes of Townsquare Media.

Keynote Sessions:

  • Artificial Intelligence in Sales: Jordan Cole, a large language model and prompt engineer, will demonstrate how AI can streamline sales processes and enhance efficiency using user-friendly apps.
  • Driving Traffic and Social Media Conversion: Erin Smith, LSUS Director of Media and Public Relations, will provide best practices for leveraging social media to drive measurable sales outcomes.
  • Zoom Etiquette Workshop: Jessica George of Heard, McElroy, and Vestal, alongside Chelsea Mason of Fastenal, will offer tips on mastering virtual meetings and interviews.

Professional Development Workshops:

  • LinkedIn Profile Building: Chelsea Mason will guide attendees on optimizing their LinkedIn profiles.
  • Resume Building and Personal Story Crafting: Jessica George will share strategies for creating compelling resumes and personal narratives.
  • Personalized Prospecting Activities: Jason Daily from Fastenal will teach techniques to personalize outreach efforts for new business generation.

Two networking breaks are strategically included to foster connections among attendees and speakers. “This intimate event will provide excellent opportunities to develop valuable professional relationships,” Chambers added.

Objective of the Summit:

Presented by the LSUS College of Business and LSUS Continuing Education, the Sales Success Summit aims to raise awareness of career opportunities in sales and to address the workforce needs of local companies. “We want to showcase the diverse industries in our community and connect them with aspiring sales professionals and students,” Chambers explained.
