LifeShare Blood Center Partners with IHOP and Whataburger to Boost Summer Blood Donations

by BIZ Magazine

SHREVEPORT, LA — LifeShare Blood Center is launching a summer initiative to encourage blood donations during a critical period. In partnership with IHOP and Whataburger, LifeShare is offering donors a free buttermilk shortstack coupon from IHOP as a token of appreciation for their contributions.

Mandi Johnson, Director of Community Engagement at LifeShare, emphasized the importance of maintaining a steady blood supply, especially during the summer months when donations typically decrease. “Summer is a historically difficult time for blood collections,” Johnson noted. “LifeShare supplies blood and blood products to over 100 local hospitals. It is crucial that we maintain a steady inventory throughout the summer months to help our local patients.”

To incentivize donations, LifeShare is providing gift certificates generously donated by IHOP and Whataburger. This campaign will run from Wednesday, May 29th through Sunday, June 9th. Donors who give blood either at LifeShare centers or through mobile drives during this period will be eligible for the rewards. While appointments are encouraged, they are not mandatory. Interested individuals can schedule their donation appointments at www.lifeshare.org/give.

Donors in the El Dorado, Arkansas area will receive a free gift card to Whataburger instead of the IHOP coupon, ensuring that everyone has a local incentive to donate.

This partnership highlights the community spirit and collaborative efforts of LifeShare, IHOP, and Whataburger in addressing the pressing need for blood donations during the summer. By providing tangible rewards, they hope to motivate more individuals to contribute to this life-saving cause.
