SHREVEPORT, LA – The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the return of its highly anticipated event, the 4th Annual Sporting Clays Tournament, themed “SHOOT HAPPENS!” This exciting clay shoot will take place at the renowned Shreveport Gun Club on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
The tournament promises a day filled with fun, camaraderie, and friendly competition for participants of all ages and skill levels. Located at 4435 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109, the Shreveport Gun Club provides the perfect backdrop for this family-friendly event.
In a playful nod to the beloved Star Wars franchise, the Chamber invites enthusiasts to channel their inner Jedi and embrace the spirit of adventure on this special occasion. “Yoda says ‘There’s no need to look in ‘Alderaan’ places to have some fun! ‘SHOOT HAPPENS!’, invited you are!” exclaimed event organizers.
Attendees can look forward to a memorable day of clay shooting, complemented by a delicious lunch, exciting cash prizes, and engaging raffles. The schedule for the day’s events is as follows:
- Breakfast and Check-in: 7:30 AM
- Mandatory Safety Briefing: 8:00 AM
- First Shots Begin: 8:15 AM
- Lunch at the Range, Raffle, and Awards Presentation to Follow
Individual registration is priced at $100 per shooter, while teams of five can register for $500. Youth shooters under the age of 18 can join the fun for $75, and active duty personnel and first responders are eligible for a special registration fee of $85 per shooter.
Participants are advised to come prepared with the following:
- 12- or 20-gauge shotgun
- At least 125 shells (size 7.5 or smaller)
- Ear and Eye Protection
- Cash for Mulligans ($10) and Raffle ($5)
- Optional: Light sabers for added flair!
