by BIZ Magazine

The Shreveport-Bossier area is gearing up to welcome thousands of archers and their families from across the nation for the highly anticipated Easton Hoyt Pro/Am Archery Shooters Association event. Set to take place from April 25 to 28, 2024, at Camp Minden in Minden, Louisiana, this four-day extravaganza promises to showcase the region’s vibrant spirit and provide an adrenaline-filled experience for participants and spectators alike.

Organized by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission in collaboration with various local partners, including the Louisiana National Guard and parish commissions, the event is expected to draw archery enthusiasts from over 40 states. Building on the success of the 2023 event, which generated a substantial $2.5 million direct economic impact for the area, organizers are optimistic about the positive outcomes this year’s tournament will bring.

“Hosting this event for the third consecutive year allows Shreveport-Bossier and our surrounding communities to highlight our region as a premier travel destination for out-of-state visitors,” remarked Stacy Brown, CEO and president of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “Securing these significant events brings a beneficial economic boost to our local area, while guests have the chance to experience our unique offerings, including local cuisine, music, and attractions.”

In preparation for the event, significant enhancements have been made to the facilities and infrastructure at Camp Minden. With 100 additional lanes, upgraded ranges, improved safety measures, and expanded parking facilities, organizers are committed to providing participants with a top-notch experience. Additionally, upgrades to the tournament village and staging areas aim to enhance communication and operational efficiency during the event.

The highlight of the event will be the Pro Pressure Point Shoot Down, a thrilling archery competition featuring top-ranked archers competing for victory in a high-stakes showdown. Taking place at the Bossier Civic Center on Saturday, April 27, at 3 p.m., this event promises to captivate audiences with its intensity and skillful displays of marksmanship.

Admission to all events is free, allowing members of the public to witness the action firsthand. Attendees are encouraged to explore the various attractions and offerings in Shreveport-Bossier during their visit, further enriching their experience in the region.
