Northwestern State University Hosts Inaugural Engineering Technology Alumni Reunion with Professional Development Component

Northwestern State University’s Department of Engineering Technology is gearing up for its inaugural alumni reunion, set to take place on Saturday, April 6. This special event will not only provide a platform for alumni to reconnect but also offer a professional development opportunity aimed at advancing the careers of Engineering Technology graduates.

The highlight of the alumni reunion will be a professional development event scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. at Williamson Hall. The session will focus on the requirements for becoming a licensed professional engineer, with a spotlight on the benefits and NCEES (National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying) requirements.

Guest speaker Steve Lindsey, an Electrical & Instrumentation Group Lead Engineer at Hunt, Guillot & Associates, LLC, will share insights from his own journey to becoming a licensed professional engineer across 10 states nationwide. Lindsey’s expertise and experience promise to provide valuable guidance to aspiring engineers.

Registration for the “Requirements for Becoming a Professional Engineer – Professional Development” session is now open at www.NSU.LA/ET-ProEng, offering Engineering Technology alumni an opportunity to enhance their professional credentials and expand their career prospects.

Following the professional development session, the alumni reunion will kick off at 3 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m. at Collins Pavilion. Alumni are encouraged to bring their families and join in the festivities, which will include games, souvenirs, refreshments, and ample opportunities to network with current students, faculty, and fellow graduates.
