BRF, in partnership with the National Institute for Deterrence Studies (NIDS) and Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSU Shreveport), is set to host the annual Nuclear Triad Symposium on June 20, 2024. The event, which will run from 8 a.m. CST to 5 p.m., will take place at the University Center at LSU Shreveport, followed by a networking reception in the LSU-Shreveport Collaboratory.

Registration is now open for both in-person and virtual attendance, offering participants the opportunity to engage in discussions on the “Role of Strategic Deterrence in Great Power Competition.” The symposium aims to foster collaboration among government, industry, and academic stakeholders while highlighting the strategic operations expertise in Northwest Louisiana.

Key leaders from entities such as Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), 8th Air Force, and 307th Bomb Wing, all based at Barksdale Air Force Base, will be in attendance. Invited speakers include General Thomas A. Bussiere, Commander of AFGSC; Maj Gen Stacy Jo Huser, Commander of 20AF; and Maj Gen Jason R. Armagost, Commander of 8AF, among others.

The agenda features individual presentations, panel discussions with industry leaders, and a classified workshop, subject to interest. Notable speakers include Vice Admiral Johnny Wolfe, Director for Strategic Systems Programs, USN, and Rear Admiral Scott Pappano, Program Executive Office Strategic Submarines, USN.

Attendees will have access to a continental breakfast, lunch, and reception, with rooms blocked at local hotels for accommodation. Those unable to attend in person can participate via Zoom, facilitating broader engagement and knowledge-sharing.
