Shreveport OMV Set to Open New Location at Financial Plaza

by BIZ Magazine

The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) is gearing up to relocate its Shreveport field office to a new, more convenient location at Financial Plaza, near the intersection of I-20 and Pines Road. The move is part of the OMV’s efforts to enhance efficiency and provide customers with a better experience.

The new Shreveport OMV office, situated at 6005 Financial Plaza, will officially open its doors at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024. A grand opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting event will follow at 10 a.m., marking the beginning of a new chapter for OMV services in the area.

Conveniently located less than a mile west of the I-20/I-220 split, the new office boasts a strategic position for accessibility. Its entrance on Rasberry Lane, across from the Westwood Village apartment complex, ensures ease of access for visitors.

The design of the new field office has been carefully planned to enable OMV staff to operate more efficiently and offer customers a seamless and convenient experience. The layout aims to streamline processes and reduce wait times, enhancing overall service quality.

Despite the relocation, customers can expect the same comprehensive range of services at the new Shreveport field office as provided at the previous Normandie Drive location. These services include commercial driver’s license (CDL) testing, CDL issuance and renewal, road skills and knowledge tests, driver’s license and ID card issuance and renewals, REAL ID services, reinstatement of driving privileges, and vehicle registration issuance and renewal.

To facilitate the transition, the current OMV Shreveport field office will be closed on Thursday, March 7, and Friday, March 8, as staff and equipment are moved to the new premises. Customers are encouraged to schedule appointments at the new field office via the OMV website at www.expresslane.org. It’s also advisable for customers to check the status of their driver’s license beforehand on the website.

While appointments take priority, walk-in guests will be accommodated as time permits, although they may experience longer wait times. The OMV remains committed to serving the community efficiently and effectively during this transition period.

For further information about the new Shreveport OMV office and its services, individuals can visit www.expresslane.org or contact the OMV directly.
