The American Cornhole Organization (ACO), the leading governing body of the sport of cornhole, is set to host its inaugural Shreveport-Bossier Major Tournament at The Bossier Civic Center on April 5th and 6th, 2024. This exciting event marks a significant milestone for cornhole enthusiasts in the region and promises to deliver a thrilling competition for players of all skill levels.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Camp Dennison, Ohio, the ACO has been instrumental in popularizing cornhole as a competitive sport globally. The Shreveport-Bossier Major Tournament will serve as both a points-earning event for participants vying for qualification to the ACO World Championships of Cornhole 19 in July 2024 and an opportunity for social play registration and competition for prize money.

“We are delighted to partner with the American Cornhole Organization to host this exciting event in Shreveport-Bossier,” said Sara Nelms, Director of Sports for the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission. “This tournament will not only showcase the talent of cornhole players from across the nation but also provide an unparalleled experience for spectators and participants alike.”

Frank Geers, Founder and President of the ACO, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament, stating, “The ACO Shreveport-Bossier Major represents a significant addition to our Season 19 schedule. We are thrilled to collaborate with the Shreveport-Bossier team and elevate the sport of cornhole in the region. We invite local players to join us for an unforgettable weekend of competition and camaraderie.”

The tournament weekend will kick off with the ACO Backyard Bash on Thursday, April 4th, featuring blind draw play and other engaging activities at the East Bank. Spectators can enjoy free admission to the tournament on both Friday and Saturday, witnessing the excitement of cornhole competition firsthand.

Registration for the ACO Shreveport-Bossier Major Tournament is now open, with details available on the ACO website at www.americancornhole.com. Participants can sign up for various divisions and events, including the ACO Big Blind Draw and the Bring-Your-Own-Partner Quads tournament.

The ACO Shreveport-Bossier Major Tournament is part of a series of 30-plus Majors held nationwide, culminating in the Season 19 ACO World Championships in July 2024, where a new Singles World Champion will be crowned.
