Joseph, a vibrant first grader, weighed a mere one pound nine ounces when he entered the world four months prematurely. His initial 130 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System were marked by two brain surgeries and a heart surgery. However, thanks to the support of donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Joseph and his NICU medical team had access to specialized life-saving equipment that played a crucial role in his recovery.
