Back Open: City of Shreveport’s Community Development Building Reopens First Floor

by BIZ Magazine

The City of Shreveport’s Community Development Department is set to welcome the public back as it reopens its office at 401 Texas Street in downtown Shreveport on January 8th. The reopening follows extensive renovations after the building’s second floor suffered a pipe burst in 2022, causing significant damage with 3 feet of water inundating both floors.

Bonnie Moore, the Department Director, expressed gratitude for the public’s patience during the renovation process. “Renovations are complete, and we are excited to be able to greet our constituents and the public again. We want to thank the public for their patience,” said Moore.

The office will resume its regular hours, remaining open from 8 AM to 5 PM daily, Monday through Friday. Citizens seeking information or assistance can visit the City of Shreveport’s Community Development website. For further inquiries, please contact Von Jennings at 318-540-6368 or [email protected].

The reopening of the Community Development Department’s first floor marks a significant step in restoring normalcy to their services and enhancing accessibility for the public.
