UPDATE: Gubernatorial Inauguration moved to Sunday

Due to anticipated poor weather on Monday, the Louisiana Governor’s Inauguration has now been moved to Sunday, January 7. As a result, LPB will provide LIVE statewide coverage beginning at 4:00pm. Original story is below:

Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) has confirmed its commitment to delivering live and extensive coverage of the upcoming gubernatorial inauguration, featuring Governor-elect Jeff Landry and other statewide elected officials. The live broadcast is scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM. Viewers statewide can watch the coverage on LPB’s six-station network, along with WLAE-TV32 in New Orleans, and WYES-TV, the PBS station for New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Additionally, live streaming will be available at www.lpb.org and through the LPB App.

Kara St. Cyr and Karen LeBlanc, co-anchors of LPB’s program, “Louisiana: The State We’re In,” will spearhead the coverage. Barry Erwin, President and CEO of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL), will join them to provide political analysis and insights into Governor-elect Jeff Landry’s plans for Louisiana over the next four years.

The event is set to offer a detailed look at the swearing-in ceremony and the subsequent Inaugural Address by the newly sworn governor. LPB’s experienced anchors and commentator, Barry Erwin, will provide insights into the political landscape and highlight key priorities and initiatives expected to shape the state’s future under the new leadership.
