BPCC to host tours, community events at Bossier, Natchitoches campuses

by BIZ Magazine

Bossier Parish Community College invites the community to its Bossier and Natchitoches campuses next month for a series of planned events.

BPCC’s Natchitoches Campus will host an Open House on Thursday, October 5, from 5pm to 8pm. Campus tours will be given from 10am until 4pm. Visit www.bpcc.edu/Natchitoches to register for a campus tour at this event.

The Open House event caters to students of all ages as BPCC offers a wide array of programs designed to offer students an accelerated career path through a two-year technical diploma or an associate degree. Both students and parents will have the opportunity meet with administrators, faculty, staff, and current students to learn more about BPCC’s programs, including HVAC Technician, Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, EMT, and Welding. Information about admissions, financial aid, scholarships, student activities and campus organizations will be available.

BPCC’s Office of Student Life will entertain attendees with Doug’s Wire Writing, Names & Faces (Asian Name Art and Caricatures), yard games, and fall themed activities and crafts hosted by the BPCC Student Government Association. There will also be an appearance by Captain Cav and a performance by the Cavalier Cheerleaders and Ladies in Gold Danceline.

As in years past, BPCC’s Natchitoches campus is partnering with the Natchitoches Fire Department Fire Prevention Open House that will run concurrently with the College’s event, bringing in even more activities for students and their families. BPCC’s Natchitoches campus is located at 6587 Highway 1 Bypass.

Current and prospective students looking to register for the upcoming winter and spring semester may attend Advising After 5 on Monday, October 9, in the Emmett E. Cope Student Services Building (Bossier Campus, Building F) from 5pm until 7pm. Attendees will receive help with the registration process, including admissions, financial aid, academic advising, veteran benefits and more. Students must arrive and sign in by 6:30pm to be advised at this event. No appointment is needed, but attendees can register for the event online at www.bpcc.edu/AdvisingAfter5.

BPCC’s Recruiting Office will be offering After Hours Campus Tours at the Bossier Campus, located at 6220 East Texas Street, on Thursday, October 12, from 4pm to 8pm. Prospective and returning students can schedule a tour, meet with faculty and staff for assistance with registering for classes, applying for financial aid and veteran benefits.
