The Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce (SBAACC) has announced the keynote speaker and title sponsor for its upcoming Annual Meeting, scheduled for July 15, 2023.
Dr. Shawn Wilson, a highly respected figure with over 25 years of experience in state government, has been chosen as the distinguished keynote speaker.
Dr. Wilson has served in various executive roles for three governors and one lieutenant governor. Previously, he served as chief of staff under two administrations and later held the position of secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development from 2016 to March 2023.
In addition, the SBAACC is honored to have Lemoine and Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Foundation as the title sponsors for the event. Lemoine is a company that offers a comprehensive range of services, including Infrastructure to Building Construction, Disaster Response and Recovery, and Project and Program Services. Their expertise and capabilities make them an ideal partner for any project. The Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Foundation shares a similar commitment to fostering economic growth in the state by supporting and sustaining the minority business community through the development of local minority chambers.
The SBAACC’s Annual Meeting, themed “The Power of Collaboration,” will take place during the event. It will acknowledge the businesses and sponsors who have collaborated with the Chamber to achieve significant milestones throughout the year. Moreover, this year’s annual meeting is part of a broader collaboration to celebrate Juneteenth in North Louisiana. The City of Shreveport, Caddo Parish Rho Omega and Friends, North Louisiana Juneteenth Coalition, and Art Heals Inc. are all participating in this joint effort.
For those interested in attending the Annual Meeting, tickets and further details, including the agenda, speakers, and sponsors, can be obtained on the SBAACC’s website at www.sbaacc.org.
