The Young Professionals Initiative will host its Lunch and Learn “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in a Professional Work Environment” with Dr. LaTienda Pierre Wednesday, June 21 at Noon at LSUS, One University Place, Shreveport.
Dr. Pierre, of Shreveport, serves as the Graduate Coordinator for the MEDCI/MEDL programs and an adjunct professor at LSUS. In addition, she is also the Racial Justice Coordinator for the YWCA of NW Louisiana.
Prior to starting her career in higher education and non-profit, Dr. Pierre had a 16-year career in law enforcement. Dr. Pierre also serves as President of the Caddo/Bossier Domestic Violence Task Force.
Dr. Pierre earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications (Public Relations/Marketing) from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2004. In 2010, she earned a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice/History from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. In August 2021, Dr. Pierre earned her Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies from LSUS.
Due to her dedication and service to the communities in Caddo and Bossier Parish, Dr. Pierre was selected as one of the Young Professional Initiative 40 Under Forty honorees for 2021.
