On Thursday, March 30th, the Chamber hosted the annual Shreveport-Bossier Business Alliance for Higher Education (SBBA) Higher Education Summit.
The Summit brings together Higher Education Commissioner, Dr. Kim Hunter Reed, leaders from our higher education systems and higher education institutions with our North Louisiana legislative delegation. The Summit is an opportunity for our higher education leaders to share successes, challenges, and partnerships and highlight any needs for the upcoming legislative session.
The Summit began with Commissioner Reed discussing the state’s efforts to expand student access to and success in completing post secondary education, eliminate persistent equity gaps in post secondary learning, and increasing the education level of adult learners.

Chamber Chairman Roy Prestwood, Bossier Chamber President Lisa Johnson and NLEP COO Angie White moderated the event with SBBA Co-Founder Dr. Phillip Rozeman providing closing remarks.
The SBBA is a collaboration of the Greater Shreveport Chamber. Bossier Chamber, Shreveport African American Chamber, BRF, NLEP, C100 and the MMC to support northwest Louisiana’s higher education institutions.
